Hearts 4 Ukraine

This ministry introduces Jesus Christ to the children and families of the Ukraine by ministering to children through sports, adults through Christian education, and women through maternity care.  FBC Carthage supports Sasha and Regina Kyrylov’s ministry through prayer, provision, and partnership. The activities and programs include sports camps that glorify God, build up believers, and reach people for Christ. The rural areas of the Ukraine do not have proper medical care and many people cannot afford medicine. Regina’s free village clinics provide for physical needs and open doors to share the Gospel as well as disciple young Christians. The Pregnancy Crisis Center offers women counseling, education, humanitarian aid, and Bible study. Find information at H4UA.org.

Watershed Church

Lead Pastor – Eric Mcmahon

At Watershed Church we desire to drink deep of Jesus and Flood the World with God’s love.

This takes place as we live out our Core Values.

We seek to be:

  • CONSUMED – We want to know who Jesus is.  We will come to know Christ better through Bible-centered learning, Prayer, and Authentic Worship. Il Timothy 3:16, Luke 18:1, Philippians 4:6-7, John 4:23-24, Col 3:16-17, Romans 12:1
  • CONNECTED – Relationships Matter!  We will grow our relationships with each other and Christ through a multiplying Biblical community, warm fellowship and by building strong families.  Ephesians 3:17-19, Col 3:12-17, Eph 5:22-33; 6:1-2, Matthew 28:18-20
  • COMPASSIONATE – This is how we flood the world with God’s love!  We will love our community by mobilizing members to serve their neighbors, love everyone and tell others about Jesus. Mark 12:29-31, Luke 18:9-14, Colossians 3:12-14, Luke 18:39

Operation Christmas Child

First Baptist serves as the Leake County drop-off Center for Operation Christmas Child.  In 2019, we collected 3,524 shoeboxes from organizations and churches in the community to be distributed to children around the world.  Our Drop-off Center serves as the first stop for the shoeboxes.

Volunteers check the boxes for labels, count, pack, and pray over the shoeboxes.  These shoeboxes are then sent to our regional processing center in Atlanta.  Not only do we serve locally, but our youth also serve at our processing centers in Atlanta and Dallas.  We are blessed to be a part of this world-wide ministry.

Since1993, Operation Christmas Child has collected and delivered over 178 million shoebox gifts to children in more than 160 countries.  These gifts of fun toys, school supplies, and hygiene items give hope to children around the world.  For some, it is the first and only gift they have ever received.  These gifts show them God’s love in a tangible way.

National Collection week is November 16-23, 2020 (third week of November).
